Bringing Back the Glide: Fixing Sticky Cabinet Doors with WD-40

Welcome to my submission for the "Repair Challenge"! For this project, I decided to tackle a common household nuisance: the old cabinet with sticky tracks. As you can see from the initial state, the sliding door mechanism on this cabinet was quite a mess, making it difficult and frustrating to open and close. The tracks were visibly dirty and the roller plate was a bit stuck, hindering the smooth operation of the glass doors.
My goal for this "Repair Challenge" was to demonstrate how a simple, multi-purpose product like WD-40 Multi-Use Product can be a powerful solution for such issues. Before applying the WD-40, I made sure to tidy up this part of the cabinet, cleaning the tracks to remove any accumulated grime and dust. This initial cleaning step is crucial to allow the lubricant to work effectively.
Then, it was fixing time! I applied WD-40 directly to the tracks and the roller mechanisms, letting it do its magic to loosen any stuck parts and provide lubrication. The aim was to help the roller plate glide better and restore the effortless movement of the glass doors.
This project showcases how a seemingly small issue can be resolved with a targeted approach and the right product, proving that you don't always need complex tools or extensive repairs to improve the functionality of your old furniture. I'm excited to share the transformation and hope you like my "Repair Challenge" video!
